Vacuuming is the key to carpet maintenance. Carpeting can hide a lot of dry soil, and if not removed regularly the particles of grit will grind into the traffic areas, and cut and crush the fibers, leading to prematurely worn areas. To help further, a good door mat would be a great idea.
Carpet extractors spray the water onto the carpet then extract it back out almost immediately. This makes a carpet pre-treat like our 2-in-1 Carpet Pre-Treat and Steam Cleaner essential because it breaks down the dirt so that it can be removed more easily.
Act fast! Blot or gently scrape as much as possible. Dab acetone or non-oily polish remover on the area until all the color has been removed. Remember to always check for colorfastness first.

Apply it to a cloth and work it through the melted crayon and it will dissolve. It is great for things like crayons, chewing gum, candle wax, etc.
We carry a product called Juice Out that is made to remove red stains from food, cosmetics, wine and dye. Use it with a steam iron and damp cloth and it will actually wick the color out of the carpet and into the cloth. Treat your lipstick stains with the Citrus Gel Spotter first to remove any waxy residue.
We have a product called 3-Way Spotter. It contains enzymes to remove odors and a spotter to remove stains. It works on stool, vomit, blood, urine and more organic stains. Put it on the spot, cover with a wet cloth and let it work for 1 - 4 hours. Blot up remaining liquid and let dry.
